Replace A Sink P-Trap

P Traps
You hear it from Cincinnati plumbers and you read it in many plumbing books. Everyone is talking about the Wash Basin P Trap and how important it is to your system. But how exactly does it work for you? Knowing the use of the P trap or also famous as the Stink trap will help you determine whether you need one for your system. Otherwise, if it is just an accessory, then you might as well not buy it.
1.Loosen the marvel connector on the rear of the P Traps, connected to drain outlet, which is the pipe in the wall under the sink, by turning it clockwise.
2.Remove the J-bend pipe by turning the connector at the bottom of the tail piece, which is the straight pipe just below the sink, counterclockwise.
3.Remove the tailpiece nut from the bottom of the sink flange and then remove the tailpiece.
4.Insert the tailpiece washer into the top of the new tailpiece and then place the tailpiece nut onto the new tailpiece. Secure the new tailpiece to the bottom of the sink flange by turning the tailpiece nut clockwise until tight.P Traps
5.Place the slip-joint connector onto the tail piece and insert the slip-joint washer into the bottom of the tailpiece.
6.Place an additional slip-joint nut onto the wall bend, which is the straight pipe with a 90-degree curved end.
7.Screw the slip-joint nut on the 90-degree curved end of the wall bend to the shorter side of the J-bend pipe, turning clockwise to tighten.
8.Attach the larger side of the J-bend to the bottom of the tailpiece and then secure it using the slip-joint nut at the bottom of the tailpiece. Turn the nut clockwise to tighten.
9.Align the straight side of the wall bend pipe with the drain outlet.
10.Place a slip-joint nut onto the end of the wall bend and then insert a slip-joint washer into the wall bend. Secure the wall bend pipe to the drain outlet using the slip-joint nut on the end of the wall bend.
